SUPPORT FOR BATTERIES
-
Check solar panels are not shaded, noting shade on any one panel can effect the full solar string connected.
Check the weather, if overcast you might need a generator.
Check appliances are not drawing more power than expected.
Contact OFFGRID NOW for a possible solar panel or battery expansion.
-
This will occur if battery is lower than 10% in charge. Connect backup power source.
-
Check the battery data cables and DIP Switch positions depending on your batt technology.
To restart battery pack without loosing power, turn each battery OFF for 10 sec then back ON. Do each battery in the pack separately in sequence.
For a more robust restart, follow the shutdown procedure in your system manual follower by start-up.
-
Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries in general cannot be charged below 0 deg C, however will continue to discharge down to -20 degrees. When an OFFGRID NOW power system is installed in environments that are falling below zero, it is necessary to fit a heater and insulation kit to the battery chamber which can be supplied on request.
-
If the Cabinet is of a darker colour and exposed to full sunlight, the fans will work harder to exhaust the heat. In this case it is suggested to fit a sun shield insulation kit which can be installed to the cabinet lid easily and relatively inexpensive. Cabinets post July 24 will automatically be fitted with the sun shield.

INVERTER SUPPORT
SUPPORT FOR INVERTERS
-
For DEYE inverters, the default setting is to start beeping at 15% noting the system will shut down at 10%. Connect the backup power source. The beeping will stop at the default level of 20% and the system will restart.
-
This will occur if the battery reaches the lower default level normally set to 10%. Connect the backup generator or grid power urgently to charge battery until the solar panels take over.
If the Inverter does not start back up within 5 minutes, restart each battery individually whilst the backup power is connected. Turn each battery OFF for 10 sec then back ON. Do each battery in the pack separately in sequence.
-
This will occur if the inverter is overloaded. Turn off the appliance causing the overload condition immediately. The inverter should restart automatically within 30 seconds. If not for DEYE inverters only press the Blue botton on the left side of the inverter until the display switched off. Then press the button again to restart the inverter. For other inverters perform a full system shut down and start up.
-
Depending on the Inverter type, they can take up to 5 minutes to startup. If not starting up, perform a full shutdown and start up procedure.
-
If the Cabinet is of a darker colour and exposed to full sunlight, the fans will work hard to exhaust the heat. In this case it is suggested to order a sun shield insulation kit which can be fitted to the cabinet lid easily and relatively inexpensive. Cabinets post July 24 will automatically be fitted with the sun shield.

GENERATOR SUPPORT
SUPPORT FOR GENERATORS
-
The generator battery may be flat. Try starting it with the pull cord. If still no luck contact support.
-
The generator battery may be flat. Try the Press button start, if this works then check with Offgrid Now support the Gen Autostart settings. If the press button does not work the battery maybe flat.
-
If the generator Autostart is on, the battery can drain within 1-2 weeks. In this case a trickle charger is necessary to keep battery topped up.
For a temporary fix, start the generator via the pull cord and the the battery should charge.
If the battery is very flat a trickle charger or manual generator start may not bring it up, in which case you should charge with a 5amp + charger.
If the battery is suspected as fauly, contact your generator manufacturer for help.
If urgent, disconnect the battery and take it to a store such as Battery Works for testing and possible replacement. Note for some generator suppliers the battery is not a warranty item.
-
Contact OFFGRID NOW to order a trickle charger.
SOLAR PV SUPPORT
SUPPORT FOR SOLAR PV

Check solar panels are not shaded, noting shade on any one panel can effect the full solar string connected.
Check the Solar DC isolator on the Switch panel is turned on.
Check the Solar DC isolator on the Inverter is turned on.
Check the orientation of the panels noting North facing is best, East and West facing are ok, however South facing can greatly limit solar production.
Check the solar production data in your System APP on a per month basis, noting it is normal to reduce towards winter. In general, panels tilted to the North at angle of latitude will get optimal performance in winter.
Where shading is unavoidable, fitting individual Solar Optimisers on each panel can increase performance. In this case contact Offgrid Now support.

WIFI SUPPORT
SUPPORT FOR WIFI
-
Check your WiFi Router is turned on and working.
Check you SIM card is topped up.
Check your Inverter WiFi dongle is paired to your WiFi router.
Check you have coverage.
Check your WiFi router is within range of your Inverter (normally about 10M). If some distance away you may need to order a new WiFi router with external antenna connection.
In some case Starlink is the best choice where other carriers are out of range.
